The Unicorn

On an autumn morning not long ago,
I walked into the forest in my sleep,
I wandered there among the fallen leaves,
Just drifting aimlessly.

On an autumn morning not long ago,
I walked into the forest in my sleep,
I wandered there among the fallen leaves,
Just drifting aimlessly.

And where the forest opened to a rising glade of green,
Where wild flowers shimmered like a haze,
I saw a pair of silver unicorn,
Grazing and unaware of me.

I stare at them in silence from the edge of the glade,
The edge of my dream,
Soon I will wake,
And take the path back home,
And take the path back home.

There among the trees,
Shadows dancing on the Autumn breeze,
But they are shy and long they will not stay.

There among the trees,
Shadows dancing on the Autumn breeze,
But they are shy and long they will not stay.
