Down the Road

In the distance comes a man down the road
Dressed in white, but black is his soul
In the distance come many a son and daughter
Gone astray like sheep led to the slaughter
Bewitched by eyes
That beckon them to his bag of lies
But, intentions were lay bare
As each gift became a snare

This man deemed "Tempter" of souls
Sells lies from the depths of Sheol
The thief comes not, but for
To steal, to kill, & to destroy

There's One who intercedes
There's power on your knees
The wages of sin succumbed
By atonement bled out from the Son

In the distance comes a Man down the road
Dressed in white, but not of flesh and bone
In the distance lie many fallen by the wayside
Buried where their faith withered and died
The Man's eyes run to and fro
Across the earth for Him to show
Strength on behalf of them
Whose hearts are loyal unto Him

This Man bears the wayward's shame
Of those who call upon His Name
He holds authority
To redeem the stray of society

There's One who intercedes
There's power on your knees
The wages of sin succumbed
By atonement bled out from the Son

There's One who intercedes
There's power on your knees
The wages of sin succumbed
By atonement bled out from the Son

There's One who intercedes
There's power on your knees
The wages of sin succumbed
By atonement bled out from the Son
