The next song I wrote with one of the person,
her name is Laleh she is an incredible Swedish artist,
and we were able to kinda dive into a side of my voice
and a side of me that I grew up listening to
Motown, Soul music
and over the past couple years
I've been doing the pop rocker, mainly pop thing
And I think I compromised who I was as an artist,
because I was so afraid of what people thought
and I wanted so badly to have hits
So the people will learn who I was.
And now with this album,
I said "Screw the hits" you know
obviously I want them, will be great.
But, it's more powerful to me and also, more authenitc to me
that I sing the music that I have the most fun singing,
and that reflects the type of music that inspired me to be an artist today.
So, with that being said,
this is a song about heartbreak
which I know that everyone can relate to,
and...
yep.
