Golden Lights

we ride the bus late at night
lonely drivers craving company
talk through our fears & fight the years of growing old
(no comfort at all)
tonight is better then too late
bite the bullet swallow bitter after-taste
dreaming of treasures our ancestors never foresaw we'd own

these Golden Lights
dance me round the floor
my eyes mislead
deceive me once more
And I observe that everything I've learnt seems to disappear
when I'm trapped by fear

the strong ones rule this hunting ground
weaker ones forgotten, slowly fading out
but in our weakness there is strength
depends how you turn it round
(no comfort to small)
unfold the green and count your needs
fashions fade & sink beneath forgotten seas
Romanticise about your lives but keep home and heart in mind

these Golden Lights
dance me round the floor
my eyes mislead
deceive me once more
And I observe that everything I've learnt seems to disappear
when I'm trapped by fear

golden gold
the floor is covered in gold
it captures my body when I fall
but offers no comfort at all
