The day after MCA offered me a record deal
I sat down and we were just kind of talking about Brad
It was such a proud moment for the two of us
Because he'd invested four years in me
And stuck by me when other people were just like
There's nothing happening, you should let this guy go
And he stayed the course with me
Which is something that's rare in this town now
Because everybody wants everything instant
It's an instant world we live in
And he refused to give up on me
So a lot of the songs is about that
Just him having faith in me
And the other part is knowing how far I'd come to that point
Knowing there was a whole 'nother mountain I had to get over
And that's life in general
Whether you're selling insurance
Whether you're a contractor
Whatever it is
You're always gonna have stuff that's costly thrown at you
You're gonna have good days and bad
It's just having faith that you're gonna get what you tryna get
And that's the place I was in the day after I was offered the record deal
