The Lady Came From Baltimore - Live;2007 Remastered Version

The lady came from Baltimore
All she wore was lace
Now she didn't see my face
I was there to steal her money
Take her rings and run
Then I fell in love with the lady
And got away with none

The lady's name was Susan Moore
Her Daddy lived the law
He didn't know that I was poor
And lived outside the law
Daddy said I was a thief
Didn't marry her for love
But I was Susan's true belief
Married her for love

Now the house she lived in, it had a wall
To keep the robbers out
She never stopped to think it all
That's what I'm about
That I was there to steal her money
Take her rings and run
Then I fell in love with the lady
And got away with none

I was there to steal her money
Take her rings and run
Then I fell in love with the lady
And got away with none.

(Spoken after this below:)
"Thank you yeah
I mentioned my good friend the Shadows
And we've been together for forty years
Actually no
It may seem that long but it's only in fact ten years
It's quite a long time it just gets a little bit hoax
Though when brother Press referred to me as
"The old man of rock and roll" No
I'd like it known here and now perhaps you know
That John Lennon is five days older than I am
Thank you

Well, talking about age, talking about age
I remember one time I was at a party about
Well, I'm not quite sure about the exact date
All I know is that, I mentioned the Shadows
They were on the Val Dinegan Show that night
And I was at this party there were about a dozen
Or so people there and a lady arrived late about
Seven o'clock and in the evening, in the evening
Though and she was introduced to everybody
Sitting around including myself and I said
Well, you must understand I do get recognized a lot
And I'm quite used to it
But this, this lady didn't back an eyelash not, not a flatter
"My eager was denied for the evening"
But anyway I struggled for it and said that's it
And about eight thirty arrived and the Shadows had told
Me actually be on the box at eight thirty so I just excused
Myself for all the people there and said
"I don't want to be a bore but could I have a tally on for
Ten minutes to watch my group the Shadows?"
And this woman got up and said "I say"
She really did you know "I say you're not the Cliff Richard"
And I said "Yes"
She said "You look too young to be the original".
