Waited Too Long

WAITED TOO LONG

Watching the cigarette burning my fingers I try too hard
Head in my hand and my hand on a bottle It's gone to far
Sleeplessly spending another long night my mind collecting last year
Half me telling the rest of myself "It's no big deal"

Half of me trying to rake up some tears with the "where's she now?"
Thinking too much about things that I miss I'll get by somehow

Waited too long
Waited too long for love in my life
And that's what's gone wrong
I've waited too long

Boots in the corner the colors, the towels On my door
Frost next to Shakespeare with cummings and Lewis, my eyes are torn
Passionate playwrights and movie directors they inspire my mind
Wishing well memories and wishing on stars they'll always be mine

Why should I be such a sad little thing when I've come so far
Slam it behind me and run down the hall I'll get by some how

Waited too long
Waited too long for love in my life
And that's what's gone wrong
I've waited too long
