Serpent Lifted Up

The Israelites were bitten by fiery serpents (Num. 21: 6, 9)
Just as Moses lifted up a bronze serpent

In the wilderness, so must the
Son of Man be lifted up so whoever looks
On Him may not die but live (John 3: 14-16)

For a righteous man one would scarcely die
And for someone good one might give his life
But God shows His love for all of us
While we were in sin, Christ died for us (Rom. 5: 6-8)
Died for us

Every single one of us has sinned, and the wage of sin is death (Rom. 3: 23; 6: 23)
But eternal life is offered us through Jesus as (Rom. 6: 23)

God's free gift, though we justly
Deserve death, all who (Luke 23: 41)
Believe in Him will not be condemned (Rom. 8: 1)

For a righteous man one would scarcely die
And for someone good one might give his life
But God shows His love for all of us
While we were in sin, Christ died for us (Rom. 5: 6-8)

We've been justified by His blood (Rom. 5: 9)
And reconciled by the death of God's Son (Rom. 5: 10)

For a righteous man one would scarcely die
And for someone good one might give his life
But God shows His love for all of us
While we were in sin, Christ died for us (Rom. 5: 6-8)

Died for us
Died for us
