I Put A Spell On You
(One, two, three, four)
I put a spell on you
'Cause you're mine, yeah
You better stop the things you're doin'
Oh, I ain't lying
Lord, I ain't lying
I can't stand it
When you're runnin' around
And I can't stand it girl
'Cause you put me down
So, I put a spell on you
Because you're mine, oh
I love you
I love you
I love you
I love you anyhow
And I don't care if you don't want me
I'm yours right now
Believe me, I put a spell on you, yeah, oh
Because you're mine, oh
Probably the most menacing line ever written I reckon
"I love you, I love you anyhow, and I don't care if you don't want me, I'm yours right now"
That's a nasty piece of work if ever I heard one
My kinda line
We're gonna finish off for the day now
With a song that um, I actually, when I recorded this
These guys EJ and Jacki were about this big
Some of them are not much bigger now I know, but um
They were the "Tin Lids" then
And ah, and I wrote this song, and got-
I thought it'd be a great song to get them to come and sing on
So they used to all sorta march on, you know, during the shows
With their sorta ear muffs on, to sorta, the shooters headphones to protect their ears
Great story about the shooters headphones 'cause they really, they cut out a lot of noise
And I remember we were doin' a gig in Melbourne
And Jane had to go and get some, you know 'cause we'd forgotten 'em
So she went to the gun shop and said
That's nice, my wife goes into a gun shop and I started to panic
But she walked in and there's this you know, Italian guy serving in the gun shop
And he sa- she says look, I need four sets of shooters headphones, you know
And he's going "Why?" you know
She says "It's very noisy and I've got four kids"
He says, "You just need one, you know, put 'em on, you won't hear 'em, you know"
It's a true story
And she had to explain what she meant
But um, so the kids used to come on wearing those
And ah, and obviously they're not, they're singing all the way through now, or towards the end anyway
So ah, if you want a sing along at the end, if you can sound like a kid, you're in
There's one
Thanks a lot for havin' us here
Thanks to MAX, we've had a really good time
I hope you've enjoyed yourselves
And um, um we'll see you out there somewhere
I put a spell on you
'Cause you're mine, yeah
You better stop the things you're doin'
Oh, I ain't lying
Lord, I ain't lying
I can't stand it
When you're runnin' around
