The Monkees Wish They Would Have Hired Vince Gill (Commentary)
I mean, one night we played
I think I was playing with Roseanne and
And Micheal Nesmith came to the gig, from The Monkees
And I was a huge Monkee fan as a kid, I joined the fan club, I
Had all the records, I tried to buy the same kinda clothes they wore and
Yeah, I was nuts about 'em and
And I got to meet him and
So this was after the show, we'd just finished playin' and
And I said, "Man, I was a, I'm a huge fan and I was in the fan club and
I loved, I really loved you guys"
And um I said, "I even wrote you a letter one time and
Told you how bad I wanted to be in the band"
He goes, "I wish we'd have hired you"
So, it was kind of a, a fun compliment
To get from one of my childhood heroes, you know
