Meanest Poker Player

Down at Nuttal N' Mann's number ten saloon,
in walked a man named Dwayne Calhoun
sleek, and sure of himself eye-in down that room
He sashayed through those swingin doors,
he was no one they'de ever seen before
The bar maid said Whats yer name?
He said Dwayne

He ordered 3 shots of kentucky bourbon,
guzzled u'm down and he felt quite certain...
that the game he came to play...
was behind those doors
There was an all star cast of rounders rustlers,
two-bit whores, sharks an hustlers
lookin for their chance of fame and miner's gold

He pulled his money from a leather sack,
the dealer said whats yer game Jack?
He said 5 card draws my game,
and Dwayne's the name
He antied up an drew three clubs,
sn ace of spades, and the lady love,
he raised with nothin showin
they were all quite stunned

Two of um' folded, Cwayne asked for three,
he raised um fifty plus a MINT-gold-piece,
that he won in Sausilito back in 53.

You shoulda seen the look upon theyre faces...
when he won that hand with a pair of eights an aces
The meanest player in these bad-lands,
took that pot with a dead man's hand
But a gang of greedy fools would challange that fact

He eyed um down till the'yre blood ran cold,
they went for their guns but it vexed their souls
And 5 card draw took on a whole new meaning
He was quick on the draw and slow on the pour,
before they could shoot they were four on the floor...
Dead as door nails, LoRD-knows they were warned...

You shoulda seen the look upon their faces
when he plugged that room full of lead those fools were wasted
The meanest player in all the land,
this side of the rio grand...
Lived to tell the tale of the dead man's hand

In every gambling room or whiskey saloon,
if you can't tell who the sucker is...
...then it's most probably YOU! It depends on the stakes and whose been dealing
but 5 card draw took on a whole new feelin
after that great but dreadful bloody day

If yer gonna wine or false accuse
you better better be ready to run or shoot
Cuz dead men don't tell tales but they sure can lose
You shoulda seen the look upon theyre faces...
when he won that hand with a pair of eights an aces
He's the meanest player this side of the Rio Grand
Yeah he's the meanest player this side of the Rio Grand!!!
