The Stench from the Swelling

As long as I can remember I've lived with that ball and chain
An inborn need within that screams out "Watch me once gain"
It's never been that mean and sometimes it was funny
But as years go by, a monster grew
Like it's one leg too many

Hold your breath
Don't scratch the surface
Tell me what you need
But keep out for your own sake
For I'm not what you believe
(From the smell out of my wounds)
You'll suffer
You'll suffocate
The stench from the swelling

But this is not perversion, no to hurt it wasn't meant
This inborn need within that screems out "Love me once again"

(A malignant tumor devouring like cancer)
I just want to absorb as much as I can swallow
To feel myself alive.

Oh no here comes a new addiction
Got to reach out for redemption

Why do I have to love to hurt?
Why do I built the bridge I've burnt?
Hold your breath, keep out, disappointment guaranteed
Don't try to breathe, don't go too far, just keep away
The stench from the swelling
Danger unseen, stay where you are, just keep away
The stench from the swelling
