Looking Glass

Peeping through a mirror
At the world behind
A figure moves and breathes like you
As it studies you carefully
But why are you surprised
Why are you surprised with what you see

Enticed by curiosity
You move towards the glass
Your hands caress the cold surface
And a stranger looks into your eyes
Searching for the inside
Searching for the outside
Of your mind

That there was once a time
When the stranger's face
Was a familiar place

That underneath your color
The only thing you'll ever see
Is a reflection

Hiding in the darkness

Waiting for the light to disappear
