The Day Women Took Over - Commentary
The day the women took over, okay
This started off, it was a new, it was a different beat, right?
But soon as the the music was made
It made me think of like
Man, what if the women took over?
Like what the world would be like
And I like songs the way you can use your imagination just go different places
But still you can draw off of truth, you can draw off
I think that's some of the best art that I've been a part of
And the best art that I love is when people has something very authentic
And it relates to the human soul
But it also has imagination, that's why
You know, I can enjoy a movie like Pulp Fiction or
Or you know a movie like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
And I-and I think, you know
The Day That Women Took Over is, is a, is a song that's really
Written to say, hey if we actually have women leading certain situations in this world
It would be a better world, like uhm
And really not just women but women with that real women, feminine energy
Like you know there's intelligence, loving, and strong and caring and
All those great things that you find in women
Uhm, and I think you know I was just also drawing off the feminine energy
If we you know we took a lot of our egos
Then the word could be better
I felt that it would be less war, families will get along better
Educational system would be better
You know, you just, you know how loving and caring women are overall
So to get that that's what the world would be
So I wrote it from that perspective and then
BJ The Chicago Kid, BJ The Chicago Kid is one of the dopest guys out there
Like uh, artist out there, I've known him for a while
But uh, we talked about working but never had worked so
I just uhm hit him up
And he was like man, he came through and
He just went into a zone, like he just went into a zone
He created a vibe to it that was real special and like
Just took the song and elevated the song
With that soul and just you know, uhm
You know that's what he brings and
I love it that he from Chicago and we got great musicians on there
Roy Hargrove, Elena, uhm and we also have Stephan Harris playing vibes
Uhm, just, man there's great musicians on there so
