Jackson Bed Maker - Commentary

Next up we've got, "Jackson Bed Maker"
Which, uhm, it might be my favorite of all these
It was recorded in Jackson hall
On tour, uhm, I don't know, maybe four years ago
With, uh, Martin Dosh and Jeremy Ylvisaker and Alan Hampton

And we were playing an outdoor gig
In Jackson hall, you know in the mountains
And, uh, it was actually our sound check
It happened to get recorded and we were just, messing around
And, uh, kind of got on this, this new groove with it

And Jeremy's doing some really cool spacy dubby stuff
And, uh, Alan, that's where Alan stumbled on
This really interesting bassline that kinda percolates along
It's, it's got a, kind of got the polyrhythmic thing going on
That I like to do with my loops, but

Hearing it as a bassline, uhm, kind of up high in the neck
It had a really cool, uhm, bubbly sound
And uhm, we just kind of, uhm
This is pretty much what happened as we were messing around
I had no idea we were recording
And, uh, it's one of my favorite things we've done
Uh, so this is "Jackson Bed Maker"
