Child of War
He was a young boy when his mother told him he has to be strong
From this time on he assumed that all the pacifists must be wrong
And time went by and he grew until it was time to decide
That it would be the best for him to be a soldier for all his life
In the army they drilled him and he learned to be stronger every day
They told him not to believe what all those pacifists had to say
Then war came and he had to go to a desolated land
Where he learned what fighting really means, down to the bitter end
Child of war
There's nothing beautiful
That life held in store
For him to see
One day, the sun shining down, he got wounded in a fight
He lost his troop and fled to an unharmful site
It was there that he found life and love and recovered to good health
And swore off the worldly masters and their untold wealth
Child of war
There's nothing beautiful
That life held in store
For him to see
I was a young boy when my mother told me I have to be strong
But now I know that my old mother was terribly wrong
