Brabant Song - Pt. 1

Exhibit A:
A sub textual demonstration of heterosexual flirtation.
So, the boy says,
"Did I not dance with you in Brabant, once?"
And the girl says,
"Did I not dance with YOU in Brabant, once?"
So, the boy says,
"I know I did, you were wearing a mask."
And the girl says,
"If you knew the answer, then why bother to ask?"
"You must not be so quick."
"Your question makes me quick!"
"Your wits too fast will tire..."
"Not till it leaves the writer in the Meyer."
Really though, the boy is thinking,
'I think we're flirting, but I made a vow...'
And, underneath the girl is thinking,
'He can't remember where we met or how.'
The boy says,
"What time of day?"
"Time to be gone!"
The boy recovers, and says,
"You must have many lovers..."
Girl says,
"Amen, so you'll be none."
The boy says,
"Neigh, then I'll be gone."
But, really the girl is thinking,
'All this flirting's gonna do him in.'
The boy thinks,
'Now I remember why I date uncomplicated women...'
When will they learn to see
What everybody else can see
They make this drama to
Avoid facing the void
And you know
Actually have to look around
And be engaged
And do something
But what do I know?
I'm still serving princesses
