Vacation

I wrote a poem that my ex'll not read
And at the end I said I'd kill myself
But I was wrong
About that, and all the other poems, too
Like the one where I said that
I still loved you
I think it's gonna take me
A couple of years
Just to say the ugly words

Good bye
To crashing at your place
With my car parked two blocks away
Do you remember when I was here
I was here, I was here
And so were you my dear

And to the ginger flavored drink
That I poured half of in the sink
Yeah I guess I'm sorry for wasting your time
But I'm still waiting for you
To apologize too, for wasting mine
I bet I'm gonna wait a lifetime
And I bet it's gonna take me
More than a couple of years
Just to say the ugly words

Good bye
To the carving on my mom's porch
I made with my pocket knife
It says I was here
I was here, I was here

La da da da da

Oh, I'll give it a rest
With the poems and the songs
And I'm going on vacation
So long
And if this is a break-up song
Then I guess I'm breaking up
With everyone
Bye
