Note to Self

Dear future self, I know life gets hard
We both know that is clear
But you've got people in your life
That really do care
You just gotta push through
The lies and fake friends
Gotta live your life, with nothing less than happiness
I don't know how to tell you
I don't know where to start
But you're a good person man, you've got a big heart
People will come and go, like the stars in the sky
Some of them will bring you joy
While others will dim your light
Keep the good ones by your side, and you can reach new heights
The pain that you are feeling
I promise it won't last
You get anxious for the future, and get depressed from the past
But if you focus on the moment, life becomes clear
You'll gain a lot of confidence
You'll have nothing to fear
But you've lost other people
You know what it's like to lose a friend
We both have gone down that path
We know how it ends
It's hard to keep going
Why bother playing pretend

Don't question yourself
Don't question your worth
You are who you are
And that's what this world deserves
There's only one kind of you
You're special for that
You've got a really neat smile, and a really nice laugh
The only way is up
When you start on the ground
You're here for a reason, to help others out
Keep lifting your friends up
When they're feeling down
You've only got one life man
So lets make it count
