Grace Amazin'
I was corrupt and fowl, now I love to smile
Christ rules, roots and grounds me like a punished child
I'm nothin' but mist that missed the mark miserably
The fact I'm not dismissed by God's a hard mystery
Since I had a knack for being dragged by life's shackles
I'm baffled to rise after being buried with Christ, time capsule
So grateful the Father's forgiven my actual
Acts of inherited sin by the sackful
Such a relief and as I'm standin' I understand it clear
We've all fallen short of His standard here
This wretched evil in my heart was commandin' there
But by His grace it's being cut off like Samson's hair
Now there's no room for my flesh, my heart's a small space
Only God remains so from Him I draw faith
He's now my life not me it's all grace
I've been hidden with Him just like a wall safe
Lord, you made us and your love sustains us
On a cross You hung it's your blood that stains us
You remain the same we're the ones that changes
And that's just a taste of what Your grace does
Lord, you made us and your love sustains us
On a cross You hung it's your blood that stains us
You remain the same we're the ones that changes
And that's just a taste of what Your grace does
Here's a tale I didn't know well originally
Learned about God but it was just religion to me
A preteen whose seen my dad deliberately
Fight with my mom day and night and it was getting' to be
Hard to see hope believin' in
The same thing I used to think caused my dad to leave his kids
To grow up without him actively in touch
I admit there were years for me that's been tough
Gone astray and found myself cryin' out to the Lord
Forgive me for the wrong that I've done now I am yours
Fast forward a year I know it hadn't been long
I was grown and actually talkin' to my Dad on the phone
Rememberin' now I'm redeemed through Christ's blood
No longer angry and hurt even though for years I was
Told him I forgive and love him tears streamed down his face
This hate's been replaced Praise God for His grace
Lord, you made us and your love sustains us
On a cross You hung it's your blood that stains us
You remain the same we're the ones that changes
And that's just a taste of what Your grace does
Lord, you made us and your love sustains us
On a cross You hung it's your blood that stains us
You remain the same we're the ones that changes
