Crash and Burn - Commentary

We're playing all the songs off Thomas Rhett's "Tangled Up" deluxe album, which is available now
And we're talking to Thomas about all the songs on the album
And the second track on this, is "Crash and Burn"
Which, I mean he kinda push the envelope a little bit but, uh
Obviously Chris Stapleton wrote it which is huge
Talk to me about kind pushing the limits a little bit and deciding to put this song on the album
And of course it has been a big hit for you

From the first time I heard it, I knew that I had to have it
I had no idea what I was gonna do with it
We even thought that song gonna be more of an album cut rather than a single
But then once we lived with it for a long time
"Crash and Burn" has steadily become one of my favorite songs on the record
Just strictly 'cause it's so different and I'm a huge fan of Chris Stapleton who wrote the song
And kinda anything that he sends me I'm probably gonna
At least take a hard glance at, and uhm, just fell in love with the melody
Fell in love with the way that the song is, is so happy yet the lyric is so sad
I don't know, just all around love "Crash and Burn"

Considering it made it to number 1, on the US and Canadian Billboard chart
I would say the fans love it too
This is "Crash and Burn" on Big Machine Radio
