The Rain Hitting the Windows, Pt. 2

Today I admitted that the mud wasn't dry
And the rain hitting the windows pooled into a flood
I can feel the water falling onto my skin
And it sinks into my veins, my chest, my blood

I've got a Magic 8 Ball and it's stuck on "no"
And I never shake it, because it's never wrong

I can sit here alone in my room now
Or I can go outside and track on concrete
And follow them as far as my legs would allow
Like they might be a sort-of map leading me to answers

Of where we went wrong and how
Or what it is I'm after
I've got a freshly-shaken jar or yellow jackets
And I think it's time I let them out

Today I admitted for the first time
That even if the rain hitting isn't for me
In that moment
It was everything it could be
