I sit before my altar as I wake up in the morning
Give thanks for my ancestors beside and before me
Bring attention to my breathing I know its time to enter
The transit to the state of mine of spiritual surrender
Center through the air flow stay rooted cuz i'm taro
Presence in the breath with the focus of an arrow
Careful not to judge let it all be love
At my front at my back below me and above
My body is a circuit creator wired perfect
My purpose on this earth is to learn how I can work it
Light the sacred fire with the medicine of clearing
Bathe my body in the smoke and let the spirit steer me
Hearing voices in the void guide me to the choice
I'll make in every moment so I know I'll be on point
Anytime I feel confused or overcome with blues
I pray with faith in music and I'll always be in tune with

I Mañainå-Hu

As I stroll through this jungle of concrete and erasure
I come to face the truth in the darkness and and the anger
The fear invoked by danger's political nomenclature
I now see separates our human nature from creator
So the the spirit sparks a prayer between body and air
Fingers hold a mudra as I breathe deeply aware
My commitment is to listen deeply to ancestors wisdom
I check in that my rythym is the essence of whats within
Before I make a decision of how I proceed or pass
Sometimes i lead a fast to open up the channels
Embrace the flow of knowing growth as begin i to paddle
Singing lålai from the ancients in exchanges with the natives
Who embraced these generation seperated from our ways which
Guide us and unite us and tie us to the sacred
I give thanks as i chant prayers in my ancestors language

I Mañainå-Hu
Hu Tutuna Hamyo'
