The devil told me I should bring him his head back
I didn't know what to say to that
I don't know where it is
And, even if I did
I'd only use it for a catapult counterattack
I climbed a mountain an hour ago
It was frozen and covered in snow
I reached the peak
Decided to speak
But, every word that I said was something I didn't know

I'm still here
I'm on track to make some big cut backs
I'm still here
And, I'm back. So, exit my backpack

Get me a coffin and get me a tie
I never thought I'd reach the other side
Keep all the chaos in the back of my mind
Another egg for the children to find
She invited me to run away
Drink all the poison, and we could escape
It started out with just a little taste
But, I'll be damned if I let the rest go to waste

I'm still here
I'm on track to make some big cut backs
I'm still here
And, I'm back. So, exit my backpack

There's a person living inside of me that wants nothing more than to see me die
I live every day of my life wondering when his next attempt to destroy me might be
We do everything together, him and I
We live our lives together
We sleep in the same bed
I make just as many attempts to assassinate him
Only because I know my life would be so much easier without this opposing force
I can't imagine being able to live without this resistance
How comfortable would it be
How easy
Yet, we both continue to live on despite the consistent assaults that we bring upon each other
I don't believe that either of us will ever succeed in getting rid of the other
Through the years, we've developed a mutual respect that can't be described with words
An admiration for the other's determination to survive
But, I have to wonder
Is this my enemy
Or is this my best friend
