As I sit here and pen the words to another letter
I take a step back from the page
I watch the tide begin to rise
The water slowly approaching
On my mind
The wind changes direction and i'm left standing there
On my own

You see, I've never been a main character, an illustration to look at or even writable at all
So I've had to jump ship before steering far off course

I'll write it myself

Chapter one
How do we measure our depth
The only depth I seem to know is the one enclosed inside my chest
Fill my lungs with hope, bury me (6ft deep)
I've only ever known the dirt beneath me

Fill my lungs with hope and bury me

Dissect me from my shell
Tear me limb from limb
Disassociate me from myself
Tear me limb from limb
