I Care Not for Your Windpipes

When I die

I will be a shell or a husk, just not both at once
There will be distinguishing things that will decide what I become
Will there be tales of valor or tales of muddied blood?

A shell's a fine reminder of the host it once was
A husk is thrown away and often forgotten in the dust
For now, I'll do what I can to protect my body from rust

Sound stops and I feel a little more sick
Start again and it feels just like a field trip
I care not for your strength or your weakness
I just care if you care that I exist

Funerals and convoys, wasted gas in SUVs
As you walk through the grass, please mind the amputees
Be wary of those that say the box sets you free

Visions and lonely warmth of friends left behind
Dance and celebrate when I finally lose my life
I hope you don't feel guilty if you don't manage to cry

Sound stops and I feel a little more sick
Start again and it feels just like a field trip
I care not for your strength or your weakness
I just care if you care that I exist

Sound stops and I feel a little more sick
Start again and it feels just like a field trip
I care not for your strength or your weakness
I just care if you care that I exist
