Long Night

I lie there with my eyes shut
But my mind is still wide open
All the thoughts in my head
Its like a gate has been broken
The things I think about
Begin to consume me
And in my mind I shout

I will call out
I hope the night will let me be
Can you save me

I try to sleep
I try to dream
But these thoughts keep me awake
Keep me awake
My minds unclear
As day draws near
But though I try
Its still a long night

The stress of a new day
When the moon has yet to fade
The hope I can carry on
As the day before has gone
The worry I can feel
Tell myself that time will heal
That time will heal

Late at nights what's in my mind
I think about my time
Every second counts away
As I contemplate my fate
And the day tomorrow brings
These things still torture me
I hope that I can be
Everything that I can see
In my mind I am fine
But my heart still declines
The fate I brought myself
With these arbitrary lines
I hope for better things
Like a vision clearly seen
But night still I fall
