Washington State of Mind

Sometimes people ask me about
This Washington state of mind
And how I'm doing on my own
Its a little bit of joy and a little bit of heartache
Lets get together and make some art for arts sake
So I can call this place my second home
But the seasons pass and they go so fast
Gotta find a way to make it last
Maybe spend less time on my phone

The sun goes down I look up to the stars
And smile knowing that they can see them too
You gotta love the game and play your part
You can't stop the sky from being blue

Life gets tough and life gets hard
When the ones you love live way too far
I know someone's gonna join me for the ride
But for now I'm rolling with the tides

Someone once told me that I bruise too easily
But I can take a hit
Over the mountains and through the trees
You'll meet some lovely people and find me
And I'll see you there in a bit
Cause with one life here and another there
Falling in love just doesn't seem fair
We might be better off if we split

The sun goes down I look up to the stars
And smile knowing that they can see them too
You gotta love the game and play your part
You can't stop the sky from being blue

Life gets tough and life gets hard
When the ones you love live way too far
I know someone's gonna join me for the ride
But for now I'm rolling with the tides
Oh for now I'm rolling with the tides
