Prewritten Freestyle
I haven't been getting credit for these songs that I've written
Gotta take my poetry from paper and show the world I'm spitting
Another verse about a girl that I know I'm no longer kissing
When I took a break from writing music lets call that an intermission.
When I'm waking up at 6am
I gotta do my stuff, gotta make more friends
But when I make music I won't pretend
That I can write lyrics like Eminem
No, I don't rap like Marshall Mathers
When I drop my first hit its gonna change my status
Never gonna waste time dealing with the haters
Cause I know I'm on the rise like an escalator
Which song is going on my setlist?
I'm never gonna let this, make me drive a Lexus
The money I won't flex it, if I ever get it
Took a second that I reckon I can use to resurrect this
Lets call this my, pre-written freestyle
I put the words in order just to make them rhyme
I change my melody nearly every time and when
You look in my eyes, I let these notes fly
I put them on a page just to show that you're mine
And you can live forever in between the lines
My dear
Is that enough to get interest?
Is that enough to give you my best?
When I'm living in the U.S.
This is what I've got to work with
Every girl that I wanna have a chat with
Only wants a crack cause I've got a foreign accent
People think I'm smooth but really I'm just an actor
Ready to make a boom like a nuclear reactor
I need to learn to trust my mind and intuition
Gotta get up on my grind, its no use if I'm just wishing
For a miracle to happen, I gotta create my vision
But its tough collecting debt with all this college tuition
But I guess that's what its always been about
Gotta get that piece of paper and then get the fuck out
But good luck to government trying to keep me around
I'm not staying in a system that pins everybody down
Lets call this my, pre-written freestyle
I put the words in order just to make them rhyme
I change my melody nearly every time and when
You look in my eyes, I let these notes fly
I put them on a page just to show that you're mine
And you can live forever in between the lines
My dear
So I guess I'm going where the music takes me
I'm addicted to the hook line and this rhythm that I'm chasing
I hate when I'm working backwords all these tunes that I'm erasing
But I'll get that hour back and call it day light savings
I'm not another Sheeran lookalike
I'm doing my own thing and making my own type
Of music I'm loving and songs I wanna write
But the man's a legend so I guess I wouldn't mind
I hope I make my Mom and Dad proud
And always keep my bro and sister around
Maybe one day I will figure this all out
But I'll keep my thoughts in songs so I can think out loud
Need to keep the faith and know that there's a plan
To find my happiness and then I'll understand
When I'm overthinking it falls down like the sand so
We can walk this road together hand in hand.
