April's Fool

Christmas has gone and he packed his sled
The feast is done, the mistletoe decayed
Little Timmy said Lord bless us in every way
Now only clearance sales and dusty stars remain
A few of us thought we would never see New Year's eve
But it's the Lord's way of showing us there's still lots to give
Epiphany starts thinking it's time to get my way
But January already hitched a ride on December's sled
Now February is a gambler he likes to play his cupid games
But if you lose March will be there to help you pick up the remains
And once you've seen you've lost against January's dual
You'll realize why you've turned into April's little fool
May June July they pass like drivers in a race
A euphemism for the people in their working stage
A constant chase for a pinch of time and a small amount of space
It's difficult to accept that half the year has taken place
Now August makes you think of all the silly things you do
Be it your escapes, big mistakes or the lifestyle that you choose
Its intent to make you a laughing stock in the public's eye
And makes you feel it's better not to even try
To be what is in your heart
To be what is in your heart
To do what you feel inside
And that's how September keeps you in line
October makes you think if it was at least a good idea
To follow the norms that the powerful put out for us this year
And that's when November turns around and says to you my dear
Do not follow the ignorance of the narrow minded rules
There will always be people who disagree with the things you do
So rather go back to April and be a little fool
