Red Balloon

Far across the distant spaces
Covering my absent mind
I think I feel self assured enough to find my way
Cause I'm trying to see
What my life is meant to be
But a red balloon took my attention from a sky so grey
Why's my mind so far away
My convoluted thoughts feel left astray
My childish antics are still the same
For red balloons and pillow fights seldom remain
I start to uncover this place
With this balloon as my guide
It blows in the wind going
Left and
Right and
Left and
Right and
Left and
Right again
Now why's my mind so far away
My convoluted thoughts feel left astray
My childish antics are still the same
For red balloons and pillow fights seldom remain
Woah ho
I arrive at my destination
A familiar place
A familiar little face
Or at least it was some years ago
There stood a little boy with his red balloon as screamed at me
"Why did adulthood make you change
Why not stay the same as the day you were made?"
So that's why, my mind has been so far away
My simpleton thoughts have been found again
My 10 year old self showed me what peace means
The beauty in life lies in the smaller things
