Memory Days

What started out as forgetfulness some 5 years past
Turned out to be something that's gonna last
The emptiness that grows bigger by the day
I regretfully say is definitely here to stay

Not sure what is real in what I remember
And will I still remember these in December
The daily confusion that hurts my head
Regularly leaves me wanting for my bed

I have found to my cost of all the things I have lost
I miss my memory the most I miss my memory the most

Do I long for those lost memory days
When looking back on earlier years
Happier times where friends and families meet
In black and white or colour such a pleasant feat

I long for days when nothing was a chore
Cooking cleaning and so much more
When words would trip off the tongue
Rather than struggle and get words wrong

I have found to my cost of all the things I have lost
I miss my memory the most I miss my memory the most
