As the Bell Rang (Prelude)

July 11th 2016

I hit the road bumping The Slim Shady LP
So loud that I can barely hear myself think
No AC no Jeep
Just me walking to work
Three miles on my feet
In 100 degree Houston heat
One day I'll be a renown stage performer
But I'm at Papa Johns for now
Taking orders
It's 3:02 on the dot and I'm on the clock
And my manager doesn't like me a lot
Summer ended I stopped
Working there as school came back in season
Last year was rough I hope 12th grade is more lenient
Cuz if it ain't then I'm damned
But I'll be scheming a plan to advance
As long as I'm breathing
Picture me in class with a little angel
Master at bringing her laughter with everything I say yo
When Ol' girl gave me grey clouds she brought a rainbow
Not certain how I'ma get her but I'ma find a way though
My favorite part about school
When I'm seeing her face
This is too good to be true
Am I asleep or awake
If I'm dreaming that's cool
I go to sleep and we date
She's got all of the tools
That I need to escape
This state if mind that I'm in
Because I'm trapped in detrimental behavior
Until I think about her
She's my mental savior
My niggas say that I shouldn't chase her
But I just need my heart to mend
So I try to win her over with compliments and hints
But she say we better off as friends
Shit
I'd be lying if I said I felt sane
But I fell back and exited class as the bell rang
