Summer in Houston Again

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
But it's gotten late and now a moon replaces it overhead
As I sit here and watch the sun set
I'm reminded of a thing you once said
Oh I believe it's summer in Houston again

There's a beware of dog sign flapping in the wind tonight
But that dog she's all bark, no bite
And that cat, he's black as coal
But he's the luckiest thing in my life
Oh I believe that everything is gonna turn out alright

Sometimes life can throw surprises your way
Like in amongst all of this rain
One happy sunshiny day
And country music always reminds me
Of road trips with my dad
And if memories that fond exist
Then I believe life can't be all that bad

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
But now it's gotten late and I think it's time I got some rest
And this neighborhood of trees is home to all of my friends
Oh I believe it's summer in Houston again
