Autumn

Where you are
What's the weather like where you are
Is it raining, thunderstorming back where you are

I watch it soak the Autumn leaves and pull them off the trees
The scent gets carried on a breeze like the whispers of past years
Where you are
And it's welcome through my open screen, you know it never scared me
Because the storms back home are memories who I pray would come and speak
And tell me, where you are

Does the lightning flash without a sound where you are
Does the downpour start out of the blue where you are
Did you carry every passing storm to where you are
Do they speak to you of bygone days

The first hint of a new season, I can't help but look back
The only things I believe in, they all happened in the past
Where you are
And the Autumn scent slips by when I'm all too used to the thunderstorms
Because New York City always smells the same, even when it rains, so let me ask
Where you are

Does the lightning flash without a sound where you are
Does the downpour start out of the blue where you are
Did you carry every passing storm to where you are
Do they speak to you of bygone days where you are
Does the lightning flash without a sound where you are
Does the downpour start out of the blue where you are
Did you carry every passing storm to where you are
Do they speak to you of bygone days
