Went to See the Future
Well I tired out my time machine
And I forgot to invite you
I made it all the way to the future
And amazingly, there's hardly anything new
Oh the people still talk and still leave their homes
And their biggest fear still is being alone
Some things they agree some still they do not
There's still plenty prejudice but at least legal pot
There's no incentive to succeed but the worst thing is to fail
And there's still a debate over who owns Israel
And the kids won't read and their parents won't eat
Their anxiety's so bad they can barely get off their feet
The South got so dumb there's a new mental disorder
And they built and tore down the wall on the Mexican boarder
And now only the models and suits on the news have any say
And you get more undisclosed funding from anyone pays
But there's good things too like a brand new rule
Saying no one is forced to do things they don't want to do
If you wanna work that's great you'll get treated plenty more
But if it's too much for ya robots can manage the store
Depressions no longer viewed as hysteria
And nobody's ranking the world versus America
And we made it to Mars but we don't have to go that far
We cleaned up the ozone and have fuel efficient flying cars
And I miss you so bad and I want to go back
Cuz it's still the same game, the deck is still stacked
And it's so obvious now the only thing that pulled us through
Is sticking together like me and you
And I forgot to invite you
I made it all the way to the future
And amazingly, there's hardly anything new
Oh the people still talk and still leave their homes
And their biggest fear still is being alone
Some things they agree some still they do not
There's still plenty prejudice but at least legal pot
There's no incentive to succeed but the worst thing is to fail
And there's still a debate over who owns Israel
