The Spoon and the Mammoth

Sitting inside on a bright day
But I'm waiting for the rain
The forecast called for clouds in my head they're all around
But nothing's over my head

Thinking: maybe it's a Monday
When someone's knocking at the door
And though surprisingly sincere it's just a friend with a trunk
Packed for a week by the shore

Heading north after a long day
Getting lost along the way
But I'm honestly unfazed never expected to say it was the best of today

Wonder if I will arrive late
Or see the Sound and hear the waves
My friends are on vacation took their bags and left the station at a quarter til 8

I had this weird idea, when I was playing a video game with my friend
And I'd named my character "Spoon" and he was fighting a mammoth
And I just thought of this duo: The Spoon and the Mammoth
I don't know, it was just kind of a funky idea but
I couldn't articulate it any meaningful way lyrically
I don't even know if there is a meaningful way lyrically but, hell
It's about a spoon and a mammoth... whatever WOOO
