City Nights

Sometimes I can't help, feeling like New York City
Bustling nonsense commotion, and unwanted pity
But I go to sleep, long after most dream
So the city never sleeps and it got me thinking

That maybe someday, I'll be waking at sunrise
To beat everyone to the worms, I expect to be right
Or so the saying goes, that if I sleep in
There'll be nothing left for me when the daylight comes in

Sometimes I can't help, feeling like New York City
Bustling nonsense commotion, and unwanted pity
But I go to sleep, long after most dream
So the city never sleeps and it got me thinking

That maybe someday, I'll be waking at sunrise
To beat everyone to the worms, I expect to be right
Or so the saying goes, that if I sleep in
There'll be nothing left for me when the daylight comes in
