Taking the Promised Land
God Himself told Joshua to be strong and carry on
Not be afraid nor be dismayed He'll be with him every day
Observe to do My words of Law meditate and do them all
Then you will be prosperous and make your way victorious
Israel prepared to cross the Jordan
Joshua gave the command to follow the Lord's Ark
The spies they came back this time with a good report
Truly now the Lord has given this land into our hands
This day I'll begin to exalt you
That Israel may know it's you I choose
Now command the Priest's to stand in the Jordan
Then the water will stand in a heap at Adam
Joshua said let's take this Land
It's time for us to make our stand
Our God has said this land is ours
And we will take it by His power
When the priests who bore the Ark
Placed their feet in the water
It was dry ground that met their soles
Things were just as they'd been told
Now Jericho felt safe and strong
Behind its walls were all its men of war
None went out and no-one came in
They were waiting for this battle to begin
Then the Lord told Joshua
See Jericho it's in your hand
It's mighty men even it's king
I have given you everything
So march around the city now
On the 7th day when the trumpets sound
Let the people give a great shout
Then the walls will tumble down
As the city walls lay flat upon the ground
Israel trusted God without a doubt
They went straight in and took hold of the city
Only Rahab's household was shown pity
Not be afraid nor be dismayed He'll be with him every day
Observe to do My words of Law meditate and do them all
Then you will be prosperous and make your way victorious
Israel prepared to cross the Jordan
Joshua gave the command to follow the Lord's Ark
The spies they came back this time with a good report
