Black Moon Rising

In the night I awake
And you're not there
I call out your name
And walk down the stairs

The house is still cold
The sky is still black
There's a chill in my spine
I know you're not coming back

The sun no longer shines
The rooster no longer crows
There's just one black Raven
Standing in the middle of the road

In the morning I arise
To find a cold lonely bed
Wipe the sleep from eyes
Run my hands across my head

Open the curtains and stare
Across a lonely deserted street
All the houses are bare
Just grey, dark and bleak

The sun no longer shines
The rooster no longer crows
There's just one black Raven
Standing in the middle of the road

A black car passes by
Pulls up outside my house
The driver sits inside
A woman gets out

She opens the door
And walks up the stairs
Sits on the edge of my bed
And cries bloody tears

The sun no longer shines
The rooster no longer crows
There's just one black Raven
Standing in the middle of the road

There a black moon rising
A bloody tide on the shore
There's just one black Raven
Standing in the middle of the road
