Girl With No Name

I read a story in the papers today
About a girl who died from drugs
She was 16 her mother was dead
And her father was always drunk

She left school jobless and homeless
Kicked out on the streets by her dad
Being groomed to be corrupted and abused
By the so-called friends that she had

Her memory no longer lingers
Her name's no longer called
Her clothes thrown into a cardboard box
And left standing in the hall

Crack, cocaine, heroin and speed
She used them all until she lost her sense
Sold to her by the pushers and pimps
And paid by the cost of her innocence

She walked the streets at night
To earn money so she could pay
For the pills to which she was addicted
The pills that would kill her one day

Her memory no longer lingers
Her name's no longer called
Her clothes thrown into a cardboard box
And left standing in the hall

She was found dead in an alley
With her veins hardened like stone
She was born into this world with nothing
And then she died all alone

Her memory no longer lingers
Her name's no longer called
Her clothes thrown into a cardboard box
And left standing in the hall
