Understanding Humans
Humans suck
Some a little less than others
We're all just miracles of evolution
Flying through space on a dying rock
How's that for paradise?
I'm writing this song to complain about us
There's no need to understand anything
Just kinda wanted to have a song name motif
To add to the self-referential aesthetic
Why are we so obsessed about hate
Everyone always fixates on the negative
My day sucked, my friends suck, you suck
Everything sucks
We get it, life sucks
But painting your life as all doom and gloom
Makes you forget the joys, the happiness
The love
The love
Another thing I don't understand
Is why we can't all get along
I mean, sure, some people are assholes
But that doesn't give you the right to be one back
What's the purpose of hate, anyways?
It only serves as a barricade
In front of a somewhat decent society
That we'll never see
Because god just had to go and fucking screw us up
Like father like son
Like father like son
Like father like son
Like father like son
Like father like son
Like father like son
Like father like son
Like father like son
We enter this world, clueless and afraid
Without a purpose to guide us
We leave this world, clueless and afraid
And then you're just gone for good
There's gotta be more to life than that
Where are the cool dragons and spaceships I was promised
Humans suck
Some a little less than others
But can we blame ourselves
Oh can we blame ourselves
We're all just miracles of evolution
Flying through space on a dying rock
But it can't be all bad, right?
But it can't be all bad, right?
If I'm gonna be trapped on this dying rock with someone
I'm so fortunate to be able to be here next to you
And when the water starts to rise while we're staring down at everything
I'll just smile cuz I'll be there next to you
And when the water starts to boil as earth finally caves in
I don't know where I'd rather be than next to you
And as we become one with earth I'll be contented and at peace
Knowing that I had been there next to you
Now I'm going to bed
I have work tomorrow
And I'm full of existential dread
Tonight I'll dream of everything
Uncover life's greatest secrets
Solve life's greatest mysteries
Then just laugh them right off
Maybe we're not supposed to know
Maybe we're not supposed to care
Maybe we're just forced to sit back and watch
As life just floats across our face
Some a little less than others
We're all just miracles of evolution
Flying through space on a dying rock
