Simba's Story (April 16th)
This is Simba's story
I go by Trill, but he was here before me
On them courts, like he traveling for different glory
I'ma give you a taste, a glimpse of Simba's story
Take me back to 2017, I left for Texas
Pulled up with my father, he whip a silver Jetta
Before and during the summer, a youngin' moved reckless
New dimension for me, got me missing chilling with the fellas
Thanks to this time zone switch, now I'm restless
New place, so new opportunities are endless
They all said he's bright, yet he rough around the edges
Still keep my head above water, never needed a necklace
Many loved ones passed this year, I grew soulless
Became a slouchy type of guy, even more than sofas
I tried to hold all my pain in, but everybody noticed
Thanks to basketball and music, I regained my focus
5'6" on a good day, but a woke shorty
Gave powerful words, but heard I spoke softly
Mindset strong, but others say I'm so scrawny
Yet on them basketball courts, I was so saucy
Nigga switched off the screen so he can try and guard it
I'm like, "Damn, bro, this nigga don't know what he started"
Only took a few moves, now that boy departing
Now I'm at the rim while his ankles got him goin' retarded
We talking girls? Well, El Paso where I found my next one
Great at first, then all the fights had me perplexed, son
She probably thought, "He cute, maybe I should go and test him"
Well I failed, the social media got in our heads, son
Someone said I changed, nah, I just find 'em different
I had plenty toxic bonds, now my vibe is different
Seen a lot and grew from it, now my rhyming different
I should cop a Rollie, show 'em that my timing different
Since I been absent I heard rumors about separation
Listen good, if we cool, our bond has no expiration
Date to pass, so let's escape the gas
And I always late to class but bad fates I surpassed
Came back to town feeling wiser than a Morgan Freeman
Don't make a nigga jack son, make a nigga beat it
Ain't a killer, all I'm saying is watch how you treat me
Where I come from, these niggas hardly got pots to pee in
Sweat and tears were let out, that's including the bleeding
I'm my brother's keeper, fam or not, them niggas need me
Balling out in every season, all my people eating
If you hearing otherwise, just know it's misleading
Fix your circle, rank your friends, watch where you place 'em
Make 'em feel your love every day, just go embrace 'em
Make sure they all know you the blessing, watch how you grace 'em
Some only ride to take your spot, watch where you take 'em
You ain't set a foundation yet? Now's the time to make 'em
We all got dreams and we got the right to chase 'em
We all got demons, soon or later, gotta face 'em
Give 'em 13 nightmares, no Freddy or Jason
If my haters don't feel me then that .9 might
I owe it to my loved ones, gotta end up in that limelight
And plus I owe it to myself, I gotta shine bright
Deja Vu of my success, I call it hindsight
This is Simba's story
I go by Trill, but he was here before me
On them courts, like he traveling for different glory
I'ma give you a taste, a glimpse of Simba's story
This is Simba's story
I go by Trill, but he was here before me
On them courts, like he traveling for different glory
I'ma give you a taste, a glimpse of Simba's story
I'm a product of knowledge, power and pain
So act right or get left in the showering rain
The confidence too high to let myself be stained
Mind's stronger than my heart, and that's just how I trained
Remember Pops said I'm man of the house like it was yesterday
Wasn't a man yet, due to the mistakes I made
I have mixed emotions and I know you can relate
I'm just grateful to be here, alive today
So I'm sorry that I'm not the man they all want me to be
Loved one's keep passing, my mind turning to debris
Don't say it often but I love you, wholeheartedly
April 16th a king was born, so shoutout to me
I go by Trill, but he was here before me
On them courts, like he traveling for different glory
I'ma give you a taste, a glimpse of Simba's story
