London Bridges

Sitting on a London bus
To young to make a lot of fuss
Through these big clear windows watching
A world thats passing by
First time South from our Highland town
Theres more to life than your own back yard
Small was I but still I see
I remember everything

London bridges falling down
Boat trips down the old Themes river
Pass the Pallas gates and through
A town at night where people shiver
Where you going to sleep tonight
Where you going to sleep
I wont be afraid tonight
I wont be afraid

People living in the street
Inside dustbins food to eat
Who are those people we don't meet
Strangers with no name
Spare some change or spare some pity
A cardboard bed in cardboard City
A freezing doorway, shops lye empty
As the world keeps passing by

Years pass as we grow old
People left out in the cold
Whatever happened to that dream we were sold?
