Translating Static

Translating static
Decoding noise
A radio in panic
The ship has been destroyed
Been living by the language of love and war
Never certain who I'm interpreting for

Why can't I revive
Under watchful eyes
Like a patient in pain
Where'd you take my breath
Got a heavy chest
Room is spinning
Make way

A phonograph cathedral of skipping thirty-three's
And the rage of repetition to play with sanity
Defending dust storms
Wagers on debris
My bed of liquid worry
Forever fever dreams

I found you back in line
Speaking pantomimes
Tables spinning their plates
Friends, why did you change
I can't swim in your lake
On our bridge fanning flames

I want to smash the violins
What a shame the weather always wins
The whirling wind and all it's wrath
Electric faces gazing back
So let's all make our way underground
It looks like the ocean upside down

Cauterize my heart
One last scalding dart
Warm, young blood gone to waste
Tune my cranium
Like a radio
Clamor causing a quake
Translating static with a new approaching wave
