Old Woman's Story

She was born in the cold of war
Fought since she was a child
She's grown up with shells in her ears

In the night looking up to the sky
She thought the stars were her loves
Watching over her and her deeds

Back in the 30s, God was everything she had
And the old continent was suffering
From absurdities carried by the latter

On her knees, she prayed
But nothing came
She found it so silly, so silly

Well, she went to the church
Desperate for hope
And there was light
There was light

The thriving valley
Has become a desert
The healthy bodies
Are beginning to ache

The thriving valley
Has become a desert
The healthy bodies
Are beginning to ache

There was light
Can you believe that?
Progress had come, progress had come

In 80 years, the woman saw a world
Changing everyday and relinquishing
The heart in favor of objects

She warned the people
Telling them that they were utterly heading up
In the wrong path, in the wrong path

"Hey, God, what do you say now?
Was it a trial?
I'm no fool, I'm no fool"

The thriving valley
Has become a desert
The healthy bodies
Are beginning to ache

The thriving valley
Has become a desert
The healthy bodies
Are beginning to ache
