In The End

I've been looking through photos
Mementos of people I used to know
We've moved on that time has gone and
Water's flowed under many a bridge
And I can't help but wonder if
Underneath we're still the same people we've
Had some knocks been round the block but
I can find traces of who I was then

So we all have our lives, and our damn nine to fives
And it's hard to find time to break bread and drink wine
But we're friends in the end

And all this technology means
We are free, yet somehow in slavery
Information overload to crack the code
Things used to be easier
In the age of Aquarius it's dangerous
There's people out there packing
Knives and guns and cherry bombs
So keep your eyes peeled and watch out for the wronguns

They're out on the street looking out for the weak
And you have to assume human nature will rule
And pull through in the end

We're living through strange times
The lunatics control the asylum and
Seem intent on monumental
Acts of sabotage, curse that twat Farage
A country divided decided
To jump from the aeroplane
Not a clue, no parachute
Slide down the razor blade
Using your bollocks for brakes

It's insane and we'll all feel the pain
Hit the ground like a stone and the best we can hope
Is survive in the end

I need cowbell
Tambourine
Triangle
Fuck off big gong

Now I don't have a vision it's hard enough
To tie up my shoelaces
But I know that we should try to
Turn the other cheek, look out for the weak
Not exactly philosophy, just plain to see
We all need a hand sometimes
Lady Luck can turn the tables
We're three paydays away from the pavement

So don't judge too quick
As you step around somebody
Sleeping rough on the street
But for fate could be you or me
We all die in the end
Got to try 'til the end
