Killing Time

Well I'm just sat here killing time
The sun is shining and the
Black Rat's tasting mighty fine
No other place I need to be
It's days like this that keep you
Going through the drudgery

And if I had the luck to
Win that lottery
I'd be here every day
Just killing time and feeling like I'm free

Don't need a medical degree
To understand that this is
Very slowly killing me

But that's alright cause we're all
Heading the same way
I'll get there first and get the
Shots in at the bar if that's okay?

Well I don't really understand
The point of living if you
Do it without beer in hand
Our basic instinct says survive
But living long is not the
Only point of being alive

And you could say that this
Philosophy is flawed
That's fine unless you think
Old age and boredom isn't a reward

So if you're heading to the bar
I'll have another pint of
Gutrot cider from the jar

That's right the lumpy stuff that
Tastes like creosote
I drink it cause it's cheap like me
And just because it floats my boat

The sun is setting finally
And I sometimes wonder if I'd
Never drunk how rich I'd be

I could have paid the house off
Bought a nice new car
I could have put the kids through
College, bought a new guitar
I could enjoy a swanky
Holiday each year
But I'd be bored as fuck and
That is why you'll always find me here
