A Moment (And Nothing More)

I find my mind is like a steel trap
The further in I go the more I know I can go back
Points angled in sharpened to a wicked edge
If I try to leave I leave with nasty scars inside my head
Oh no, oh no
Take it slow, take it slow, take it slow

Cause I'm alright, most nights, red lights
Don't hurt like they used to
It's true, they do
But I have found a way
To say, I'm okay
Yeah, I will be Fine
In time, I find
That this is just a moment
This just a moment and nothing more

I suppose I should know, better than to catastrophize
But it come so easy I guess it's no surprise
I take everything watch come to a screaming halt
Then look around as if to say is this my fault
Oh no, oh no, oh no
Take it slow, take it slow, take it slow

Cause I'm alright, most nights, red lights
Don't hurt like they used to
It's true, they do
But I have found a way
To say, I'm okay
Yeah, I will be Fine
In time, I find
That this is just a moment
This just a moment and nothing more

I wrote about 1000 sad songs
Not one of them no not a single one was wrong
But I find if I only ever focus on what makes me sad I'll never ever smile
So I could write 1000 more sad songs if I wanted to but I don't think I want to for a while

Cause I'm alright, most nights, red lights
Don't hurt like they used to
It's true, they do
But I have found a way
To say, I'm okay
Yeah, I will be Fine
In time, I find
That this is just a moment
This just a moment and nothing more

That this is just a moment
This is just a moment and nothing more
