Simple Command

I stared at a passerby and tried link on to his wave but all I felt was an inner rage
I looked up to scream and stood silently in quicksand remembering a dream
A perfect pose a heart stopping prose spun off his tongue like he was talking to me
I turned around and he floated a foot above the ground then I realize that he couldn't see

Wonderfully I wondered how he knew just what to say
Without a look he made me obey
His command was simple and it was that I play what I feel
Oh what do I feel

I want to shed light I want to do what's right
Sometimes it gets so hard cause on this road you get scarred
When feeling misplaced I close my eyes and try to retrace what he told me
And that always brings a smile and a song

Eager is the fool well that's my rule
Pardon the expression but we're all just tools
Insincere become the tears that' my fear
Breaking down walls that's why I'm here
